New Products & Price Increases

New Products…

Many of you ask us what do you have that is new. Well, we have heard your pleas and will attempt to release a new limited shiner every month for the rest of the year so stay tuned. Here is this month’s new shiner:

Non-Vintage Effervescent White Wine with Natural Lime Flavoring – $90/case

We used our Symphony varietal and sweetened it with natural lime flavoring. Symphony is a varietal that we have been offerring for many years and tends to be lower in acid. The tart acidity of the lime really compliments the Symphony varietal character. And it has bubbles, who doesn’t love bubbles! Those who have sampled it find it super refreshing and have likened it to a margarita (winearita!) or an adult version of sprite. Perfect for the summer, request a sample and give it a try!

Price Increases…

We want to express how important it is for us to continue providing quality wines at an affordable price. And while that has been our goal for the 20+ years we’ve been in business, we are subject to the same market fluctuations as every small business. In light of increased supply and labor costs while experience lower crop and production yields, you may notice price increases across some of our inventory items.

That being said, we maintain our focus on quality and affordability and will continue working to get you the products you need when you need them with the best customer service in the industry! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out:

Miramont’s Commitment to Our Customers: Covid-19

Posted on by miramontestate.com in Uncategorized | Comments Off on Miramont’s Commitment to Our Customers: Covid-19

Spring is here and it is a spring like no other!

We are writing this email to you, reflecting on the fact that the world we live in is quite different from what it was only a couple weeks ago. We have entered into an unsettling, uncertain time in our local and global community. We have to make complex decisions on a daily basis in order to keep our customers, staff, and people around them safe.

Over the past 20 years we have been fortunate enough to meet and work with so many great people, you, our customers. We are proud to feel like you are partnering in our business and we are partnering in yours. One thing that we have observed through the years is that the wine industry shares a particular comradery in that we look out for one another. If there is ever a time that this good will is needed it is now. We appreciate and value each and every one of you.

We know your business operations are extremely challenged by the current situation. Especially since we all have been urged by the different governments to cease operations and not to gather in communities.

Our admiration goes out to everyone who cares for each other in these circumstances. Whether at home or at work. Together, we can make a difference. That’s why the well-being of our customers, family, employees, friends, and community comes first. Therefore, we continuously take all precautionary measures possible. We are closely monitoring communications from the centers for disease control (CDC), local health departments and government advisories regarding the coronavirus (Covid-19) threat. We have devised a strategy based on the recommendations of the CDC to combat the spread of this and any infectious disease. We are taking the following measures:
• Increased sanitation and hygiene throughout our facility
• Encouraging quarantine for employees at risk of or showing symptoms of any infectious disease
• Limiting physical contact with vendors, customers, shipping lines, etc
• Closely monitoring employee health

Spring is indeed here we see it in the buds that are beginning to push. Every year this is such a hopeful time as the next vintage begins to show its self in the smallest of places. We hold fast to hope knowing that we will get through this crisis.

We strive to operate without disruption. Maintaining support to our customers’ business needs and our service commitment remains unchanged. Therefore, if there is anything in addition that we can do to support you, please reach out to us. Don’t forget, we value your business and will support you.

Our Winery Video

Posted on by miramontestate.com in Uncategorized | Comments Off on Our Winery Video

This year we decided we wanted to film our harvest and winemaking process and give some information about what we do and how we help hundreds of wineries around the United States. The cinematography turned out amazing. We take great pride in what we do here at Miramont Estate and being able to assist our customers in growing their own winery. We believe that this is evident in our video. Below is the link we hope you enjoy.

OUR NEW BUBBLY WINE* BOTTLING LINE…

Posted on by miramontestate.com in Uncategorized | Comments Off on OUR NEW BUBBLY WINE* BOTTLING LINE…

Open the bubbly, our new sparkling bottling line is finally here!

It is up and running. It really is an amazing piece of machinery. We are now offering three bubbly wines:

  • 2020 Lodi Effervescent Symphony (the Symphony varietal w/ 3.5% RS)
  • 2020 Lodi Effervescent White Wine with Natural Peach Flavoring
  • Non-Vintage California Effervescent Brut White Wine (blend of Pinot Gris & Viognier)
  • 2019 Lodi Effervescent Rose Wine (White Zinfandel w/ 4% RS)
  • Non-Vintage Lodi Effervescent White Wine with Natural Lime Flavoring

All are being offered at $104/case, with no minimum order!

*At this time we are infusing the wine with carbon dioxide to make it effervescent.  The TTB classifies sparkling and carbonated wine as a wine that measures .392g/100ml.  Our wines with using this method are .37-.385g/100ml which is underneath that threshold.  (The wines are still quite carbonated.)  Because our wines falls beneath the TTB standard the taxes are cheaper since they are in the still wine tax class.  Also, the labels would be filed and approved (through us/Steve Zmak as usual) under still wine and you can use a fanciful name to put on the label.  The fanciful name can not include “sparkling or bubbly” but plenty of other words can be used like effervescence to help your customers recognize that it is sparkling wine (though the package: bottle, cork, and wire hood give it away as well).  From what we are reading carbonated drinks are one of the fastest growing segments in the beverage industry.  We still have no minimum order.  As always, we are here to answer any questions or address any concerns you might have.

Another Tank!

Posted on by miramontestate.com in Uncategorized | Comments Off on Another Tank!

As we look to the future, we continue to seek ways to grow our business, expand our capacity, and increase the volume we make available to our customers. Adding two 5,000 gallon tanks to our tank room is one more way we are increasing our capacity to process wine in-house and make a greater volume of wine available to our customers throughout the year.

These tanks are the most recent of a long list of investments we have made to our winery’s future and growth. We recently completed construction of our “workshop,” which is a place for Dave to do more projects in his free time, but also store a bunch of things that don’t need to take up valuable square footage in our licensed premises…again, making more room for more wine! While these types of things make it easier for us to do our jobs, we also hope that our customers can see that we are committed to their future as well. We hope to grow as your businesses grow, and continue to provide you with quality products and exceptional customer service for years to come.

If you’re ever interested in touring our winery, we love showing our customers around so please call to schedule a visit!

Work, work, work!

Work, work, work!

We can fit between 60 and 70 barrels on the floor in our newest cellar building which allows to get a lot done before having to move barrels around, put them away, and make room for the next row. We used to do all of this type of work outside which meant we started at the crack of dawn (sometimes earlier) to get the barrel work done before the heat picks up. But these days, we’ve had so many heat waves that we have to close everything up before 10:00 am anyway so the guys start even earlier to avoid the heat- sometimes at 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning!

The barrels in this photo are wet because we spray them with water at the end of the day. It helps to promote humidity, which helps to reduce evaporation.

Fun fact: The evaporation of wine in the barrels is referred to as the “Angels’ Share”

Shiny New Tanks!

Posted on by miramontestate.com in Uncategorized | Comments Off on Shiny New Tanks!

We are growing, yet again. Well, we just added some new tanks to accommodate the growth we’ve experienced over the last several months. The new tanks allow us to be more independent and sustainable. We are moving more and more towards being able to handle all of our production in house. We still have plans for more tanks and another building. These things will help streamline our processes and minimize the set up work involved in different stages of production and different seasons throughout the year/wine making process. Enjoy these photos of how we moved these giant tanks into our temperature controlled cellar.
